    Tap + Count or press Space after each stitch, row or round.

Target Stitch or Row Countdown Formula

The Target Stitch or Row Countdown formula subtracts progress from the goal and converts the result into a percentage.

Remaining = Target − Completed

Percent remaining (%) = Remaining ÷ Target × 100

Target
The section goal in stitches, rows or rounds
Completed
The value on the counter

Worked example: An armhole starts after 120 rows. After 87 rows, remaining = 120 − 87 = 33 rows, and percent remaining = 33 ÷ 120 × 100 = 27.5%.

What is a Target Stitch or Row Countdown?

A target stitch or row countdown is a counter that shows how many stitches, rows or rounds remain until you reach a set goal. The Crochet Stitch Counter Target Stitch or Row Countdown subtracts your progress from the target so you see the number left, not the number done.

Counting up answers "how far have I come". Counting down answers "how much is left", which helps with section goals such as "work 30 more rows until the armhole" or "12 stitches to the corner".

The countdown uses the same target you set in the counter and turns it into a finish line.
